Allison is a former-English-teacher turned music director/nonprofit professional who performs public and private gigs around the Long Beach Island, NJ area.
She began as a classically trained pianist who went on to study jazz and accompany opera groups and the Oxford University Student Choir in college. When she moved to NJ in late 2014, she started gigging to support her teaching career.
She eats poetry, can fall asleep almost anywhere, and is both a dog AND cat person.
Allison's piano and vocal performances utilize looping to incorporate beatboxed percussion, vocal backup sections, and intricate orchestration for a solo act with a not-so-solo feel. Most frequently, she arranges music into cover sets when playing at her favorite restaurants, craft breweries, and cafes. In recent years, she has enjoyed contributing her original music to local songwriter showcases as well.
Her focus on re-arranging cover songs makes her a genre-chameleon who has covered everything from Ella Fitzgerald to Alice in Chains, but loves any chance to play some of her favorite piano-based artists, including Elton John, Billy Joel, John Prine, and Nina Simone.

In truth, I've got no idea.
What I do now started out of necessity; a practical need to earn money found itself met serendipitously by pockets full of piano lessons.
Thank you to all of the kind souls who have made flattering suggestions that I travel to this city or that, or join some competition or another in order to "make it big." That's the opposite of what I want. I've got too much stage fright for that, and you don't want to see me try to drive through a metropolitan area.
If you're here at the bottom of this silly page, you've probably already helped me on my way to the few things I know I do want: to live quietly and comfortably enough that I can create for art's sake. Thank you.
